DETERMINATION OF THE OVERALL MIGRATION

Acetic acid in aqueous solution 3% w/v

Contact condition:30 minutes at 100°C repeated contact

Measure unit: mg/kg

Determinate value < 5 mean value < 5 limiting value 50 (according to DM 21/3/73)

DETERMINATION OF THE SPECIFIC MIGRATION OF CADMIUM AND LEAD

Acetic acid in aqueous solution 4% w/v

Contact condition: 24 hours at 22°C

Measure unit: mg/l

Determinate value < 0.5 / < 0.1 mean value < 0.5 / < 0.1 limiting value Cd. 4.0 /Pb 0.3 (according to 2005/31/CE)

CHEMICAL ANALYSIS

3 test plates of non painted porcelain have been immersed in vegetal oil for an hour at 100°C.

At the end of immersion, they have been taken out of oil and washed in a dishwasher in order to

remove oil residual.

Olfactory organoleptic test has been carried out on these specimens.

RESULT

At the olfactory organoleptic test , none of the expert witnesses (composed by 8 people) has evaluated the presence of the typical odour of vegetal oil and of its degradation products on the specimens

RESISTANCE TO THERMAL SHOCK

For the evaluation of the resistance to the thermal shock, the samples have been undergone to

the following thermal cycle:

• 1 hour at 235°C;

• 1 hour at -10°C;

This cycle has been repeated for three times in succession.

RESULTS

At the end of the three cycles, the samples didn’t present any crack or other faults.

RESISTANCE TO ABRASION

The painted surface of the tub has been subjected to continuous friction of a sharp knife for about 5 minutes.

RESULT

The painted surface of the tub didn’t present any particular visual faults.
